My experience

I have taught SEND specific classes in Maths and English across all year groups and led SEND across five schools and three local authorities.

I have supported the management of a hearing resource provision to support the integration of hearing impaired pupils into a mainstream classroom. I am a qualified SENCO contribute to postgraduate lectures at UCL.

  • Integrating speech and language provision within the busy timetable of a mainstream setting
  • Address social, emotional and mental health needs within KS1 and 2 through a variety of interventions
  • Develop social and communication skills within free-flow activities in EYFS for pupils with autism
  • Manage a staffing structure including an extensive range of support staff and a well-being team

I can offer professional development on:

  • Streamlining SEND provision across a whole school
  • Improving quality first teaching in the classroom for children with SEND
  • Applications for EHC plans
  • Addressing language needs in the classroom,
  • Using Makaton in everyday teaching

I can support teachers/leaders with:
