My experience

‍

I have ten years of experience teaching history, with five years as a subject leader. I lead a brilliant team who consistently achieve excellent results. In 2019 80% of our GCSE cohort achieved 9-5 grades, whilst 82% of our A-level cohort achieved A*-B grades.

We have recently designed a KS3 offering based around the principles of conceptual development, breadth of knowledge and historical scholarship. These ideas also underpin our teaching at KS4 and KS5.

I have written a workbook for Hodder, served as an advisor for the government’s Centenary Advisory Group on the First World War commemorations and written articles for Teaching History and Schoolsweek. I have also provided curriculum training to middle leaders at a PRU and local primary schools.
