The Early Careers Framework

The ECF gives all Early Career Teachers an entitlement to two years of high-quality training to develop the knowledge, practices and working habits that set them up for a fulfilling and successful career in teaching.

The ECF has been designed to support early career teacher development in 5 core

areas:

  1. Behaviour management
  2. Pedagogy
  3. Curriculum
  4. Assessment
  5. Professional behaviours

In order to ensure congruence with the 8 Teachers’ Standards, the content of the framework is presented in 8 sections. You can read the full Early Career Framework here.

In partnership with UCL, London South TSH provides a wide-reaching programme offering:

  • Full ECF training to provide high quality, structured support  for teachers in the first years of their career
  • A dedicated training programme for all ECF mentors to ensure they're able to give the best support possible
  • Local ECT clusters to ensure ECTs can build a strong network of support with their peers that can continue beyond the programme

London South TSH's Training Programme is fully-funded by the DfE - free for state-funded participant schools.
